The Motherhood Drama

My son Riaan, took birth on 13th December 2015 and since then things have not been easy at all. Motherhood is the best feeling I do not doubt that but, tending to a new born while managing a house and your own work is a tough task. I was with my parents and my in laws for the initial few days but, moved back when Riaan was just three months old. Being a first time mother, I began to panic. Eventually, with a lot of guidance from my family, friends and the good old internet; I started working out things one at a time.

Days turned into months and he turned one already. Life was getting a bit on track and we all started settling. There was only one aspect which had completely disappeared from my life – ‘Me Time’. I had no time for myself in all this chaos and all my priorities took a backseat. I did not have a few minutes to spare for a decent cup of coffee! My husband was worried and he ensured to take over during the weekends so that I could start feeling human at least for a few hours ๐Ÿ˜‰ .

Life with a child, especially a toddler is like a roller coaster ride. You have your days of happiness and then you have the most feared days in which there are mood swings, tantrums and lot many emotions. Few days ago, I had made my perfect cup of coffee (did I miss telling you that I am a coffee lover?) and had just sat on the couch on a perfectly beautiful morning. The aroma of the coffee was tantalizing my taste buds and I was eager to take a sip of my cuppa and then! I heard a voice. It was my son. He had woken up earlier than his usual time and wanted me to get him back to sleep. There went my beautiful cup of coffee. By the time he slept, the coffee and the moment, both had vanished.

I am a fan of the Instacuppa products and my kitchen shelf has a nice and cozy corner for these beauties. So, now it was time for another addition to this collection. I got the Instacuppa Thermos Travel Mug. Now let me tell you, this mug is a boon for people like me (in short, for us mothers). It is ideally a travel mug but, considering the fact that we mommies rarely find the time to grab a cup of coffee or tea; this mug comes as our savior. Fill it up with your favorite hot or cold beverage and it retains the temperature for up to 6 hours.

Even when I am out for shopping trips, I carry my cup of coffee along with me in this travel mug. It is perfectly portable and small enough to slip into your handbag too. As per me it is a must have for any person. In a city like Mumbai, where you tend to spend a major chunk of your day traveling back and forth for work, this thermos travel mug proves to be a blessing. To buy it, head to Amazon.

After becoming a mommy, Netflix and chill have become luxuries for sure but, it is all worth it when I see that cute smile in the morning and when I get showered with kisses and those never ending I Love Yous ๐Ÿ™‚
